Let's Get This Party Started (again)!

After quite a long hiatus from blogging, I'm back!

Just because I wasn't blogging, doesn't mean I wasn't training for anything and sitting around being lazy.  I actually hit some major milestones in life already this year and have been busy, busy, busy!

First off, I took the plunge and bought a house--moving in just in time to celebrate the new year and my 32nd 28th 26th Birthday.

Why, yes, the cake does look like it is on fire, and
I AM wearing a giant birthday cake necklace.

Secondly, I took in a new partner in crime--the little brown dog Charlie Rose.  Charlie belongs to my brother and his wife who are both deployed overseas for the time being.  She's a sweet, energetic, loving girl who is also a great running partner!

I also am proud to say that I completed my FIRST Half Marathon on March 18th!  I had set a goal time of 2:30 and hit it on the dot and a few seconds!  I will post a race report soon since I actually wrote up a rough draft the week after the race.  See...I haven't been physically lazy, just lazy about posting on here :P

Yes! That's me nearing the end of 13.1 miles!

After the half marathon, I kicked triathlon training into full gear since I had registered for the Rev3 Knoxville Olympic Distance race on May 6th.   And somewhere in between the races I traveled to Antigua to attend a White Coat Ceremony for one of my bestest of friends...and of course took some time to enjoy the island!

I tried to keep up with training while there, since I had access to the med school gym and of course the ocean for open water swimming :)

Yay goggles!

Antigua was a great escape, but as soon as the plane landed back home, it hit me that I had a race in 3 weeks!  It was crunch time!

I also have already written up a race report on the Rev3 olympic that I'll post soon as well.  For now I will save you the suspense and tell you that I DID finish it :)

There's more to come soon, I promise!
